Naruto looked up and stared in the direction of the sudden noise. What was that? It sounded like......chirping. He had gotten separated from her during their latest mission to find Sasuke. Could that be Sakura? Was she in trouble?
Naruto heard distant shouting.
“Get out of the way Sakura!”
The screaming he heard came from the same direction as the strange noise.
“Move! Now! I can’t stop him!”
‘Huh? No. It can’t be.’ Naruto thought.
That voice. It wasn’t Sakura. He had heard that voice every night in his dreams. He knew that voice. Sakura had found him.
“Sakura! No!!!”
Sakura? She was in trouble!
The blonde turned and sprinted toward the scream. It had to be him. It had to, yet there was something wrong. These screams were different. They were filled with agony and rage. They were filled with devastation and disbelief. They had.......feeling. Another shriek split the air like a knife.
“Ahhhh!!!” This one had hatred.
It started to rain.
Naruto ran faster.


“I love you.”
And then it hit.
Sasuke stared at the chaos that was laid out before him. There was blood. A lot of it. He could see everything, thanks to his activated Sharingan. He could also see the hated ninja that had killed Sakura in front of him. Uchiha Itachi. Sasuke lived for this man, but not in a loving way. No, he lived to kill this man. It was what had controlled his life ever since his whole clan had been murdered. By Itachi, his ‘big brother.’
But that didn’t matter now.
Sasuke was numb. Sakura had been killed, in his place, by her choice. Itachi’s hand was still in her body, right through the center of her heart. Slowly, the chirps and light of his Chidori went away, and Itachi ripped his hand away. Sakura’s body fell limply to the ground.
Sasuke was in shock, from more things than one.
Sakura had been killed by Itachi.
She had saved him.
He actually felt emotion from it.
What was this? Tears?
They streaked silently down his face and dropped to the ground, mixing with the pool of blood that was forming around Sakura’s mangled body. Then it started to rain.
Sasuke couldn’t believe he still felt this way about her. He had suppressed all feelings ever since the battle between him and Naruto. He wasn’t used to this. But this was only the beginning. It was then that he heard Itachi laugh.
A full wave of emotion hit him like a ton of bricks.
First there was disbelief. Then devastation. Then rage. He couldn’t even feel the injuries that should have disabled him. Sasuke glared up at Itachi and charged with intense hatred.
Sasuke pulled out his sword, releasing a surge of chakra into the special blade. Blue, lightning-like chakra coursed through the metal and surrounded the weapon. The sound of thousands of chirping birds filled the air, along with thunder and the pounding of rain.
He thrust it at Itachi, who dodged easily by moving just behind the younger ninja. Sasuke swept the blade back toward Itachi, missed again, and jumped into the air. He twirled around in mid-air and landed a few feet away, facing Itachi. It all happened in about four seconds.
Sasuke’s mind was clouded with rage. He couldn’t let this monster get away, especially after killing another one of the few people he ever loved. He was going to suffer. Sasuke would make sure of that. He was about to charge again, but Itachi stopped him.
“Foolish little brother. Give up before I kill another one of your comrades.”
Sasuke glowered at Itachi and said, “I have no comrades.”
Itachi shot him a look of mock surprise.
“She came after me,” he added sadly.
“Well, whether you like it or not, you have another ‘friend’ on the way,” Itachi said.
Sasuke turned.
“No,” he whispered.
Through the red eyes of the Sharingan, he saw an orange and black covered figure with spiky yellow hair running toward him.
